What is Synchronicity?

When unrelated events come together (cross your path) to create a purposeful end, it is called synchronicity.

A young man has found no set career. He moves from job to job as he becomes bored with the content. (None of us should stay in a boring job as it stagnates the brain). A recession overshadows the countries economy and he loses his current job. Suddenly the boring job looks a lot better, as he finds no new prospects for income. He knows someone who owns a gas station. He asks for a job and gets it. He’s happy to just be working. A customer comes into buy gas and asks if he knows of anyone who’s looking for a job. Long story short, The young man goes to work for the customer and works in the same line of work, that he finds interesting, until retirement. (This is a true story).

These type of events happen to all of us throughout our lives. Many times they are ignored or the pieces aren’t put together as relating to each other. Sometimes “bad” things happen. But, they are really just part of a larger picture of synchronicity. Or, a method of getting you back on your rightful path. Some might consider this notion as “air fairy.” However, to remain in the small box of life that you’ve created for yourself, never asking why or why not, seems more silly than considering the possibilities.

Messages

Really, events of synchronicity are just messages from angels, guides or loved ones who have passed over. They may just be messages from your subconscious. If you’ve never opened yourself to the possibility, you probably haven’t had experiences that tell you this is the truth. If you raise your vibration and open your heart and mind, you will start to see events in your life that you can’t explain. Whether you believe in this one lifetime or multiple life times, don’t let the opportunities of the present moment pass you by. Make sure you accomplish everything you came here to do.

Types

According to Synchronicity Times (an online magazine), there are four types of synchronicity.

  • Predictive: You think of a person and a short time later run into them or get a phone call from them.
  • Guiding: Through an earlier event in your life, you associate a particular song with a plane crash. The song may have been interrupted, on the radio, with a news bulletin. You are sitting in the airport, waiting for a flight. The person sitting next to you is listing to music. He pulls off his earphones and you hear the same song playing. You decide not to take the flight and find out later of the plane crashing or some other mishap of the flight.
  • Reflective: You think of a childhood friend as their name is a character in a movie you are watching. Later you are in a store and the clerk’s badge is the same name. It may end there and not go any further, making it simply reflective. However, you may decide to get in contact with that old friend and start the relationship anew.
  • Ego: Synchronicity events may cause you to be introspective regarding a fixation of money, sex, power or other ego building endeavor. It may give you the opportunity to take make a different choice.

You may think that all of these types of synchronicity are interchangeable, still relating to a change in life’s path. What's crossing your path today?

As always, these are things I know for sure, wonder about or take to my dreams. Karen Ellis
